Who you need
Funeral florists
Funeral florists make the tributes for a funeral: coffin sprays chosen by the closest family, wreaths, hearts and crosses, letter and name tributes, and sprays and posies from friends. Many also deliver sympathy bouquets to a family’s home.
Order a few working days before the funeral, and give the florist the person’s name, the date and time of the funeral and the funeral director’s address, as tributes are usually delivered there. The guide to funeral flowers explains who usually sends what and what to write on the card.

Frequently asked questions
How much notice does a funeral florist need?
Try to order at least three to four working days before the funeral, and earlier for letter tributes or other shaped designs, which take longer to make. Many florists can help at shorter notice, so call and ask if the funeral is soon.
Can I order funeral flowers through the funeral director?
Yes. Many funeral directors take flower orders and pass them to a florist they work with. Ordering directly from a local funeral florist lets you discuss the design yourself and see the price straight away. Either way, the tributes are usually delivered to the funeral director.
